The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office have issued a notice of suspicion to a current MP on charges of extortion of over $1 million, money laundering, and submitting false information in a tax return.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to investigators, in 2023, the parliamentarian, under the guise of fighting call centers, demanded over $1 million from someone allegedly involved in their activities. He allegedly promised to use his parliamentary powers to influence the work of certain such organizations. He ultimately never received the money.<\/p>\n

Law enforcement officials also believe the deputy laundered 12.6 million hryvnias through a fictitious gift agreement with his ex-wife. Investigators believe she had no legitimate income for the transfer, and no actual transfer of funds took place.<\/p>\n

The suspect’s name has not been officially released. However, some members of parliament have stated that the suspect is Nikolai Tyshchenko, though this information has not yet been officially confirmed.<\/p>\n

As reported, on June 20, in Dnipro, a group of unidentified individuals led by MP Mykola Tyshchenko attacked former Kraken special forces soldier Dmytro “Syn” Pavlov<\/a> while he was walking with his child in a stroller. It’s worth noting that Mykola Tyshchenko was dismissed from his position as deputy chairman of the Servant of the People parliamentary faction<\/a> in January 2023 due to his travel to Thailand during the war. The MP is also godfather to Andriy Yermak, head of the Presidential Office.<\/p>\n

Following the public disclosure of details of the attack on the former serviceman, law enforcement officials served Nikolai Tishchenko with a notice of suspicion on June 25.<\/a> Interestingly, upon receiving the notice , the MP intentionally smashed his cell phone<\/a> , which, however, will not prevent the investigation from extracting information from it.<\/p>\n

Subsequently, Kyiv’s Pechersky District Court placed MP Mykola Tyshchenko, suspected of beating and illegally depriving a former soldier of his liberty in Dnipro, under 24-hour house arrest<\/a> .<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Kyiv Court of Appeal left MP Mykola Tyshchenko under 24-hour house arrest, rejecting his attempt to appeal the measure of restraint<\/a> in the case of the illegal imprisonment of a former serviceman in Dnipro.<\/p>\n
