On the night of Thursday, July 2, explosions were heard in the Russian city of Kstovo, Nizhny Novgorod region. After that, a large-scale fire broke out on the territory of the Lukoil-Nizhny Novgorodnefteorgsintez oil refinery. According to preliminary data, the enterprise was attacked by drones.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was announced<\/a> by Advisor to the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Serhiy Sternenko.<\/p>\n

Local residents also reported the attack and posted photos and videos from the scene on social media. According to monitoring channels, thick smoke rose above the plant.<\/p>\n

According to Sternenko, the target of the strike was Lukoil’s Kstovsky oil refinery. Its design capacity is about 17 million tons of oil per year. It is the fourth largest oil refinery in Russia. <\/p>\n
