At the same time, housing costs will be compensated to a limited extent.

In Germany, it is expected that from July 1, about 5.5 million residents of the country will receive basic income instead of Bürgergeld.

It is also known that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Ukrainians living in Germany and having temporary protection have also received Bürgergeld.

Previously, the German government had already reached an agreement to cancel these payments for Ukrainians who arrived in the country after April 1, 2025.

In particular, newly arrived Ukrainians will receive assistance at the same level as asylum seekers. Its amount depends on family status, but in general it is about 120 euros less per month. For a single person, the payment will be 441 euros.

It was previously reported that the Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights, Michael O’Flaherty, urged EU countries not to rush to end temporary protection for Ukrainians who left for Europe because of the war.

Also follow “Pryamim” on Facebook , X , Telegram , and Instagram.

In Germany, starting July 1, Ukrainian refugees, as well as the unemployed, will receive the so-called basic income (Grundsicherung) instead of social assistance for citizens (Bürgergeld).
