On Thursday, July 2, the second round match of Wimbledon 2026 will take place between Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk (No. 13 WTA) and “neutral” tennis player Anna Blinkova (No. 114 WTA).<\/strong><\/p>\n

The match is expected to start no earlier than 15:15-15:30 Kyiv time<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The “neutral” status means that Anna Blinkova is Russian and competes as a neutral athlete without a flag or other national symbols<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In official singles, these tennis players met only once – in March 2025 at the WTA 1000<\/strong> tournament in Miami, where Marta Kostyuk won with a score of 6:2, 6:1<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In the previous round of Wimbledon 2026,<\/strong> Anna Blinkova defeated another Ukrainian tennis player, Yulia Starodubtseva, and Marta Kostyuk beat Argentine Nadezhda Podoroska<\/strong><\/a> (6:1, 6:2<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

In the match against the Russian, Marta Kostyuk is considered the favorite due to her significantly higher rating, as well as a successful season, which is the best of her career.<\/p>\n

The winner of this pair will face the winner of the match between Emma Navarro and Oksana Selekhmeteva<\/strong> in the third round.<\/p>\n
