The European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaia Kallas, said that she would propose to EU countries to introduce new sanctions against Russia after the massive attack on Kyiv on the night of July 2.<\/strong><\/p>\n

She announced<\/a> this on her page on the social network X.<\/p>\n

According to Kallas, statements condemning Russian strikes alone are not enough to stop Moscow’s aggression.<\/p>\n

“Words alone are not enough. We need further military support for Ukraine and even stronger pressure on Russia,” she stressed.<\/p>\n

The EU’s top diplomat announced that she will today propose to the EU member states to expand the sanctions list by including additional organizations that support the Russian military-industrial complex.<\/p>\n

“The more often Moscow attacks civilians, the more sanctions need to be imposed. We will continue to raise the price of war until Russia realizes that it cannot win,” Kallas said.<\/p>\n

She emphasized that increasing sanctions pressure, along with continued military assistance to Ukraine, should be the European Union’s response to new Russian attacks.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, the European Union has extended economic sanctions against Russia for another year<\/a> . They will be in effect until at least July 31, 2027.<\/p>\n
