The Security Service of Ukraine has exposed a Russian military intelligence agent who worked at one of the leading academies of the Ministry of Defense and tried to transfer secret developments of Ukrainian strike drones to the enemy.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to the investigation, the detained person was an associate professor at the scientific center of the military academy. The SBU claims that he collaborated with the Russian military intelligence (GRU) and copied design documentation for the latest strike drones of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

In addition, according to law enforcement, the defendant intentionally prepared negative expert opinions on promising Ukrainian developments of unmanned and robotic systems. In such documents, he unreasonably declared new weapons unsuitable for use in combat conditions.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The SBU stated that military counterintelligence documented the agent’s activities and used him to misinform the Russian side. This made it possible to prevent the transfer of secret materials and at the same time mislead the enemy.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Law enforcement officers detained the suspect in his office when, according to investigators, he was trying to send a new package of documents to the curator from Russia.<\/p>\n

The investigation established that the man was recruited through an acquaintance who was in Russia. In exchange for carrying out intelligence tasks, he expected to receive a position in the Russian occupation administration.<\/p>\n

During the searches, SBU officers seized two mobile phones and computer equipment, which, according to investigators, were used for secret communication with the Russian special services.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The defendant was informed of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law). The court chose for him a preventive measure in the form of detention without the right to post bail. If proven guilty, he faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.<\/p>\n
