The American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) said that the Kremlin’s announcement of the alleged complete capture of Konstantinovka is part of an information campaign. Analysts emphasize that the real situation on the battlefield does not confirm the Russian statements.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is stated in the ISW<\/a> report.<\/p>\n

Analysts note that Russian troops have achieved some tactical successes in the Kostyantynivka area in recent weeks. However, in their assessment, this does not mean establishing full control over the city.<\/p>\n

“Russian forces have made tactical gains in Kostyantynivka in recent weeks, but the bulk of the Russian presence in the city consists of small groups of saboteurs interspersed with Ukrainian positions,” ISW analysts noted.<\/p>\n

According to the Institute’s assessment, at least as of June 23, the number of Ukrainian military personnel in Kostyantynivka exceeded the number of Russian military personnel.<\/p>\n

ISW believes that the statements of Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Russian military command about the alleged advance “along the entire front line” are part of an information campaign. According to analysts, its goal is to convince Ukraine’s Western partners of the alleged irreversibility of the Russian offensive and the futility of further support for Kyiv.<\/p>\n

Analysts also drew attention to Putin’s public meeting with Russian generals, which took place on the evening of July 3. In their opinion, the timing of its holding was not chosen by chance, as the Kremlin sought to influence Western media coverage of the war during the US Independence Day holiday weekend.<\/p>\n

The Institute for the Study of War emphasized that, along with combat operations, Russia is actively using information and psychological operations. According to experts, such statements are designed to create the impression among the international audience of the rapid advance of the Russian army, although independent assessments of the situation on the front do not confirm this.<\/p>\n

Earlier, the Vostok group of forces stated that the information of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin about the alleged complete capture of Konstantinovka, Donetsk region, is not true<\/a> . The Ukrainian military emphasizes that the city remains under the control of the Defense Forces, and the fighting continues.<\/p>\n
