In Pakistan, a passenger bus skidded off a mountain road and fell into a 25-meter gorge in the Balochistan province. The accident killed 40 people and seriously injured 8 more passengers.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The tragedy occurred on the night of July 3 in the mountainous Dana Sar district of Balochistan province. The bus was on a flight from Quetta to Islamabad when it skidded off the road and fell into a rocky gorge.<\/p>\n

According to one of the surviving passengers, the bus was originally carrying 36 people, but the driver picked up passengers from another bus that had broken down along the way. After that, the number of people on board increased to 48, which caused dissatisfaction among some passengers due to the overcrowding and the risks of traveling on the mountain road.<\/p>\n

According to an eyewitness, during the conflict, one of the passengers allegedly grabbed the driver by the neck, after which the bus lost control. At the same time, the police emphasized that this version is currently being verified as part of the official investigation.<\/p>\n

Also, preliminary technical data indicates that the vehicle’s brakes may have failed at the time of the accident.<\/p>\n

The rescue operation was complicated by the difficult mountainous terrain. Emergency services and military personnel used special equipment to extract the dead and injured from the damaged bus. It is known that 8 injured people are in a hospital in the city of Zhob.<\/p>\n

Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased and ordered that the injured be provided with necessary medical assistance. The Chief Minister of Balochistan province also ordered a full investigation into the causes of the accident.<\/p>\n

Law enforcement officers continue to investigate all the circumstances of the tragedy, including information about a possible attack on the driver before losing control of the bus.<\/p>\n
