The increase in supplies comes amid a fuel crisis caused by Ukrainian drone strikes on Russian oil infrastructure.

This is reported by Radio Liberty .

According to the Price Index Center, from June 1 to 25 , 141 thousand tons of gasoline were imported to Russia from Belarus. This is 2.4 times more than for the entire month of May 2026. For comparison, in June 2025, gasoline imports from Belarus to Russia amounted to only 1,000 tons .

The Price Index Center notes that Belarus has redirected to Russia the volumes of fuel that were previously supplied to the countries of Central Asia.

Experts believe that increasing imports will help partially improve the situation on the Russian fuel market, but will not be able to completely eliminate the gasoline shortage. It is noted that Belarus is capable of exporting 1.8-2 million tons of gasoline per year, that is, approximately 150-170 thousand tons per month.

Reuters previously reported that in the summer, gasoline consumption in Russia is at least 110,000 tons per day .

Amid the fuel crisis, Russia has also started importing gasoline from India and is negotiating fuel purchases with Kazakhstan. In addition, the Kyrgyz Energy Ministry in July asked Belarus and neighboring countries to help with fuel supplies, as the country previously received 90% of its gasoline from Russia.

It was previously reported that Russia is preparing to import a batch of Japanese-origin jet fuel amid a fuel crisis caused by Ukrainian attacks on energy infrastructure. The cargo is planned to be delivered to Russia via South Korea with the participation of several traders.

By the way, Ukrainian drone strikes on Russian oil refineries are increasingly hitting the Russian fuel industry .
