Russia has intensified an information campaign aimed at worsening relations between Ukraine and Poland. On the eve of the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Volyn Tragedy, propagandists are spreading fake materials disguised as news from Ukrainian media.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by<\/a> the Center for Countering Disinformation.<\/p>\n

According to the Central Intelligence Agency, a fabricated video, stylized as a Ukrainian media report, is being distributed through a network of anonymous accounts. It claims that the Polish Intelligence Agency has published a report comparing Ukraine to “Hitler Germany” and calling it “a new threat to the security of Eastern Europe.”<\/p>\n

In addition, the authors of the fake claim that the CIA has allegedly been training Ukrainian military personnel since 2015 to “kill according to the UPA model,” and that the Ukrainian army has been massively using Nazi symbols since 2022.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Center emphasized that this information is completely untrue. The Polish Intelligence Agency has not published any similar materials.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The CPD noted that the use of fake videos and logos of Ukrainian and international media is a typical tactic of the Russian disinformation network “Matryoshka”. It was this network that Russian special services had already used during previous information attacks aimed at worsening Ukrainian-Polish relations.<\/p>\n

According to the Center, the main goal of this campaign is to sow enmity between Ukrainians and Poles, provoke political tension between Kyiv and Warsaw, and reduce Poland’s support for Ukraine.<\/p>\n

The CPD also reported that Russia has launched an active phase of a special information operation on the eve of July 11, the Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the Volyn Tragedy, which is celebrated in Poland. As part of this campaign, propagandists are also distributing fabricated FSB “archive documents.”<\/p>\n
