The Security Service of Ukraine has detained two FSB agents who were coordinating Russian missile and drone strikes on energy infrastructure in the Dnipropetrovsk region. One of the attackers’ main tasks was to collect information about one of the region’s key thermal power plants.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported<\/a> by the press center of the SBU.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

According to the investigation, both suspects acted separately from each other, but received instructions from one supervisor of the Russian special services.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

One of the detainees was a resident of Dnipro who evaded mobilization. He hardly left his house, and collected the information necessary for the Russian special services during conversations with neighbors and relatives. Under the guise of everyday communication, the man tried to find out the technical condition of the local thermal power plant, as well as the coordinates of the positions of the Ukrainian air defense.<\/p>\n

Another suspect is an unemployed resident of Zelenodolsk. According to the SBU, she was patrolling the area to identify locations of mobile fire groups and also recorded the consequences of Russian attacks on energy facilities.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Law enforcement officers documented the agents’ activities and then detained them. During the searches, mobile phones containing evidence of cooperation with Russian intelligence were seized from the suspects.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Investigators informed both defendants of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – high treason committed under martial law.<\/p>\n

The suspects are currently being held without bail. If convicted, they face life imprisonment with confiscation of property.<\/p>\n

Earlier it was reported that on the night of July 6, the Russian army launched a massive combined strike on the territory of Ukraine. One of the targets of the attack was Kyiv. The studio and office of Channel 5 were damaged as a result of the shelling.<\/a><\/p>\n

Recall, on the night of July 6, Russia launched a massive missile strike on Kyiv<\/a> . The first reports of explosions appeared at around 2:00 am. The attack affected the Holosiivskyi, Podolskyi, Darnytskyi and Obolonskyi districts of the capital. There are dead and dozens injured.<\/p>\n
