Ukrainian law enforcement officers have discovered the body of Anastasia Berezovskaya, suspected of involvement in the assassination attempt on businessman Vadim Yermolaev in Monaco. A current officer of the Main Intelligence Directorate and a former police officer are also involved in her murder.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by the National Police, the Security Service of Ukraine and the Office of the Prosecutor General.<\/p>\n

According to investigators, Berezovskaya arrived in Ukraine on July 1, after which she maintained contact with relatives and two men. One was a former law enforcement officer, the other a current member of the Main Intelligence Directorate.<\/p>\n

Investigators established that both men had repeatedly transferred funds to the woman’s bank and cryptocurrency accounts. Therefore, law enforcement is investigating their possible involvement in the assassination attempt on Yermolaev in Monaco.<\/p>\n

During the search, the GUR officer, according to investigators, confessed to Berezovskaya’s murder, which he allegedly committed together with a second suspect. The former law enforcement officer, in turn, claimed he had not informed his superiors about his contacts with the woman or the transfer of funds to her and had acted independently.<\/p>\n

During the search of the former law enforcement officer’s home, a basement was also discovered, which, according to investigators, resembled a torture chamber.<\/p>\n

Based on testimony from one of the suspects, law enforcement officers discovered Berezovskaya’s body with a gunshot wound to the head and pistol cartridge casings. Suspect notices are being prepared for both suspects, and investigators are identifying possible masterminds and others involved in the assassination attempt on the Yermolaev family in Monaco.<\/p>\n

According to Hromadske investigators, Anastasia Berezovskaya was registered in occupied Crimea. She was born on June 21, 1987, although the Interpol database lists a different date of birth\u2014June 26 of that year.<\/p>\n

On the evening of Monday, June 29, a powerful explosion occurred near the entrance to a residential building in central Monaco<\/a> . Three Ukrainian citizens were injured in the incident: a man, a woman, and a 13-year-old boy. According to local media, they are all members of the same family. One of the injured, according to French and Ukrainian media, is sanctioned Ukrainian businessman Vadim Yermolaev.<\/p>\n
