Ukraine’s air defense forces intercepted nearly 89% of the missiles and drones launched by Russia during its large-scale aerial attacks in June, according to the Ministry of Defense, highlighting the continued effectiveness of the country’s air defense network.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported<\/a> by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.<\/p>\n

According to the department, during the month, the Russian army launched almost 6 thousand missiles and drones into Ukraine, of which Ukrainian air defense shot down almost 5.3 thousand.<\/p>\n

In particular, about 90% of Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmas attack drones were destroyed, as well as 90% of cruise missiles, including Caliber, Iskander-K, and Kh-101.<\/p>\n

At the same time, the interception efficiency of ballistic missiles was 40%. This includes, in particular, missiles of the Iskander, Kinzhal, 48N6DM types and others.<\/p>\n

The Ministry of Defense emphasized that ballistic missiles remain the biggest challenge for Ukrainian air defense. To intercept them, a sufficient number of PAC-3 missiles for Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems is needed.<\/p>\n

The department also noted that Ukraine, together with international partners, continues to work to strengthen air defenses and called on allies to transfer interceptor missiles to protect critical infrastructure.<\/p>\n
