The Security Service of Ukraine, together with the National Police, detained a man who attacked a law enforcement officer during a conflict with representatives of the territorial procurement center (TCK) in Lviv.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported<\/a> by the press service of the SBU.<\/p>\n

According to the investigation, within 24 hours, law enforcement officers identified the attacker. He turned out to be a 23-year-old Lviv resident who was among the crowd that blocked, damaged, and overturned a military service vehicle.<\/p>\n

The incident occurred on July 8 on Chervonaya Kalyna Avenue during a warning event by military and police. When law enforcement officers attempted to restore order, members of the crowd began to resist, and one of them injured a police officer.<\/p>\n

The detainee was informed of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 345 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violence against a law enforcement officer) and Part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (hooliganism).<\/p>\n

The issue of choosing a preventive measure for him is currently being decided.<\/p>\n

In addition, an investigation into criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 114-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (obstruction of the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations during a special period) is ongoing. Law enforcement officers are identifying all participants in the riots and persons involved in unlawful actions against military personnel and police officers.<\/p>\n

Under the incriminating articles, the detainee faces up to eight years in prison.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that in the Sykhiv district of Lviv, during a conflict between local residents and representatives of the CCC,<\/a> a crowd damaged and overturned a military service vehicle.<\/p>\n

After the incident , the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Ministry of Defense stated<\/a> that attacks on servicemen are unacceptable and undermine the state’s defense capabilities.<\/p>\n
