On the night of July 11, Russia launched ballistic missile attacks on Kyiv. Explosions in the capital occurred before the air raid alarm was sounded.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to the Air Force, six Iskander-M or S-400 ballistic missiles were launched from Russia’s Bryansk region. There are no reports of successful interceptions of these missiles.<\/p>\n

As a result of the overnight attack, at least 11 people were injured, according to the National Police (information as of 9:00 a.m. on July 11).<\/p>\n

Hits were recorded on warehouses in the Solomensky and Dniprovsky districts of the capital, as well as on a roadway in the Darnitsky district, resulting in broken windows in nearby houses.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, Ukraine currently has a shortage of missiles for the Patriot air defense system<\/a>, which are capable of intercepting enemy ballistic missiles. Following the recent NATO summit in Ankara, Turkey, it was announced that Ukraine will receive a license from the United States to produce Patriot missiles<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Also, according to President Volodymyr Zelensky, Ukraine has agreed on a new batch of Patriot missiles<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In addition, Ukraine is participating in the Freya project<\/a>, which involves the creation of a new air defense system that could become a low-cost alternative to the Patriot.<\/p>\n
