Deputy Director General of the Myroslav Skoryk Lviv National Philharmonic Iolanta Pryshlyak resigns due to a ban from the regional council to speak at an event where the head of the regional council was not invited. The acting head of the Lviv regional council is currently Yuriy Kholod, a representative of the Servant of the People party.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Iolanta Pryshlyak reported<\/a> this on her Facebook.<\/p>\n\t

“One of the determining reasons for my decision was a phone call from the general director of the philharmonic society, who informed me of the verbal order of the head of the regional council to ban the performance of the symphony orchestra at the event to which the group was invited. The reason, as I was told, was that the head of the regional council was not invited to this event and was not given the floor ,<\/em> ” wrote Iolanta Pryshlyak.<\/p>\n

According to her, at first it seemed like a joke to her, but the next day Pryshlyak had a conversation with the head of the regional council, who asked her if she had seen the script for the event.<\/p>\n

“For me, this was confirmation that the subject of his intervention was not the activities of the orchestra, but circumstances unrelated to his professional work.<\/div>\n

“That is why today I submitted a resignation from the position I held for over twenty years. All this time my work has been dedicated to the development of academic music, systemic changes, and the development of the symphony orchestra ,<\/em> ” said Iolanta Pryshlyak.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

She added that the orchestra is a municipal institution subordinate to the Lviv Regional Council, but no municipal institution can be a tool for implementing the personal decisions of an official temporarily holding his position.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

“Under such circumstances, I see no opportunity to continue my work in this institution and depend on manifestations of personal ambitions that have nothing to do with the principles of public administration ,<\/em> ” emphasized Iolanta Pryshlyak.<\/div>\n
