A day when we need to talk about the responsibility of parliament, the government, and the president for the decisions they make. For two months, I refrained from criticizing the government and the president. For two months after the meeting on Bankova Street, I hoped I was heard. The topic of a national unity coalition, a national unity government, and ending the war through a ceasefire are fundamental,&#8221; Poroshenko emphasized.<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;Today, unfortunately, these hopes are being buried. I would like to remind each of you who voted on July 17th last year of the promises you heard. I would like to remind you of what happened less than a year later. Two weeks later, the independent anti-corruption infrastructure and the cardboard Maidan were attacked. A month later, &#8216;Minditchgate&#8217; occurred, when half of those you voted for were suspected of direct involvement in corrupt deals,&#8221; he recalled.<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;I want to emphasize that resignation is not a punishment. Half the government should be in prison, not trying to hide behind your votes,&#8221; declared Ukraine&#8217;s fifth president.<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;I&#8217;d like to point out that the only minister supported by European Solidarity and who bears full responsibility for this vote is the only positive thing one can recall about the government&#8217;s performance. This includes the restoration of genuine, competitive procedures for arms procurement, the issue of exporting to Ukrainian arms manufacturers what the state is unable to buy, and at least some approach to military reform, including demobilization and contracts.
