President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine’s defense industry is currently capable of producing 10 million drones per year. He said he plans to increase this figure to 20 million in the future.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The head of state said this during the celebrations to mark Ukrainian Statehood Day.<\/p>\n

“I remember the first time I publicly announced the state’s plan\u2014a million drones a year. There was a lot of skepticism everywhere, both from within and without. And now we can confirm that we’re producing 10 million drones a year. And that’s going to be 20,” Zelenskyy said.<\/p>\n

The President noted that the expansion of drone production will take place in cooperation with international partners.<\/p>\n

Foreign leaders who arrived in Kyiv to show their support for Ukraine also participated in the events marking Ukrainian Statehood Day. Among them were European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, Albanian President Bajram Begaj, Moldovan President Maia Sandu, Romanian President Nicusor Dan, Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovi\u0107, Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Jan\u0161a, and other officials.<\/p>\n

Ukraine and the European Union previously launched a new defense-industrial partnership<\/a> . The parties signed the Drone Deal, which aims to strengthen cooperation in drone production and defense technology development.<\/p>\n
