One of Russia’s largest petrochemical complexes, Salavat, located in the Urals, suspended operations on July 14 after a drone attack.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Reuters reports<\/a> this.<\/p>\n

According to the agency, the strike damaged and shut down two primary oil processing units \u2013 CDU-6 with a capacity of 17,140 tons per day and CDU-4, which is capable of processing up to 11,430 tons of oil and gas condensate daily.<\/p>\n

In addition, some recycling plants and other technological equipment were damaged. According to sources, the restoration of the enterprise could take from several weeks to several months.<\/p>\n

At the same time, the regional governor confirmed the attack, but stated that the plant would likely be able to resume normal operations within a few days.<\/p>\n

In 2024, the Salavat complex processed about 7.2 million tons of oil, which is approximately 2.7% of Russia’s total oil refining. The enterprise also produced 2.5 million tons of diesel fuel, 1.5 million tons of gasoline, and 700,000 tons of fuel oil.<\/p>\n

In addition to fuel products, the plant produces liquefied gas, polyethylene, polystyrene, ammonia, and other petrochemical products.<\/p>\n
