Former Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov is trying to define his position in the standoff with President Zelenskyy, but even now he fails to recognize that without structural changes, there can be no real transformation in the country.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ukrainian journalist and TV presenter Vitaly Portnikov wrote<\/a> about this on social media.<\/p>\n

“At his first briefing since resigning as Defense Minister, Mikhail Fyodorov laments the anonymous Telegram channels that have been harassing him recently, emphasizes that no one is talking about it, and calls on journalists to rectify the situation. This demonstrates either a dramatic misunderstanding of the situation or an unwillingness to understand it. I’ve been publicly speaking about the dangers of anonymous channels for many years. Opposition deputies are talking about it. Independent journalists are talking about it,” he wrote.<\/p>\n

“We’re also talking about the reason why this happened. This is a marathon, this is the disconnection of independent television channels from digital broadcasting. This is the presidential office’s bet on Telegram. On bots. On liars. On scoundrels. And not only are these their own liars. This has created an opportunity for the Russians and their agents to pretend to be their own liars and to destroy the Ukrainian state and government,” Portnikov noted.<\/p>\n

“For some reason, the former minister hadn’t noticed this danger before. Even now, as Fedorov’s career in Zelenskyy’s inner circle is winding down, his greatest concern is to avoid being perceived as a piece of gunpowder. An insulting term that arose as a result of the 2019 election campaign. It was dreamed up by those very same accommodating Little Russians who invented the Mazepaites, Banderites, and Petliurites. Much to Moscow’s delight,” he noted.<\/p>\n

“I won’t question Fedorov’s reformist plans or achievements at the Ministry of Defense. I see before me a young man, inexperienced in political processes, who even now doesn’t realize that without structural changes there can be no real transformation,” the journalist noted.<\/p>\n

“But this could have been the former minister’s personal problem, if that weren’t the position of those who come to his defense. Who doesn’t ask the simple question: why are governments appointed this way, why are ministers appointed and dismissed this way? Why is a successful minister like a lottery number? If it weren’t for the Galushchenko case, Shmygal would still be the Minister of Defense. The Ministry of Digitalization would still be working on drones, which is the Ministry of Defense’s responsibility. What did Sviridenko do wrong? How was she any better than Shmygal? Why isn’t parliament addressing all this? After all, it’s its direct function and prerogative?” Portnikov emphasized.<\/p>\n

“It’s precisely because most people aren’t interested, and they’re drawn like butterflies to any bright personality they believe will change everything, that we’ll continue to live within the paradigm of the ‘Servant of the People’ series and Zelenskyy’s brilliantly orchestrated 2019 election campaign by Fedorov and others. Adjusted for war and death,” he emphasized.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, the Verkhovna Rada appointed Serhiy Koretsky<\/a> as Prime Minister of Ukraine: 289 deputies voted in favor.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy decided to dismiss Mykhailo Fedorov from his post as Minister of Defense due to a long-running conflict with the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces,<\/a> Oleksandr Syrskyy.<\/p>\n

As reported, Andrius Kubilius, the European Commissioner for Defence and Space, called Mykhailo Fedorov’s resignation as Ukraine’s Minister of Defence “a big surprise.”<\/p>\n

Incidentally, the European Solidarity faction called on Prime Minister candidate Sergei Koretsky to reinstate Mykhailo Fedorov in the new government and entrust him with security and defense matters.<\/a><\/p>\n

Furthermore, Deputy Commander of the Ukrainian Air Force Pavlo Yelizarov submitted his resignation. He cited the possible resignation of Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov as the reason for his decision and warned of the risk of a rollback in air defense reforms<\/a> .<\/p>\n
