Russia’s largest energy companies have asked Indian oil refineries to increase gasoline supplies following the Ukrainian strikes, which have significantly reduced Russia’s refining capacity.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is stated in a report by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).<\/p>\n

According to analysts, Rosneft, Gazpromneft, and Lukoil have made similar requests to their Indian partners. At the same time, Indian oil refineries, both private and state-owned, do not have sufficient surplus gasoline for additional exports.<\/p>\n

ISW notes that in the event of further Ukrainian attacks on Russian oil refineries, Moscow will likely be forced to also seek imported supplies of diesel fuel.<\/p>\n

Experts estimate that Ukrainian drone strikes may have disabled between 20% and 40% of Russia’s oil refining capacity. As a result, average daily oil refining fell to 3.91 million barrels\u2014the lowest level since March 2005. This is more than 1.4 million barrels per day less than the same period last year.<\/p>\n

Analysts note that the fuel crisis has already forced Russian authorities to impose strict restrictions on the export of diesel fuel, gasoline, and jet fuel. ISW believes that if Ukraine’s campaign of attacks on fuel infrastructure continues, Russia’s fuel shortage will worsen, and the country’s dependence on imported supplies will increase.<\/p>\n

It should be added that Russia has introduced a complete ban on the export of diesel fuel<\/a> and plans to begin importing petroleum products in July.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that on the night of July 8, Ukrainian Defense Forces struck several strategic targets in Russia<\/a> , including two oil refineries, six tankers belonging to the shadow fleet, a military airfield, and transport bridges.The Omsk Oil Refinery also shut down following the Ukrainian drone attack<\/a> .<\/p>\n
