The sanctions list includes, in particular, the deputy head of the Olenivka penal colony, Dmytro Neelov.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p> This <a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/Ukraine_MFA\/9629\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">was reported<\/a> by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p> The department emphasized that the sanctions were another step towards holding accountable those involved in the torture and death of Ukrainians in Russian captivity.<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;Among the sanctioned individuals is Dmytro Neelov, deputy head of the colony in Olenivka, who was directly responsible for the mass murder of Ukrainian prisoners of war on the night of July 28-29, 2022, by deliberately delaying the evacuation of the wounded,&#8221; the Foreign Ministry noted.<\/p>\n<p> Also under sanctions was detention center No. 2 in Taganrog, where, according to the Ukrainian side, systematic torture led to the death of Ukrainian journalist Viktoria Roshchina after a year of illegal detention.<\/p>\n<p> The Foreign Ministry recalled that the sanctions include the freezing of assets, a ban on EU citizens and companies from providing funds or economic resources to sanctioned individuals, as well as a ban on entry into and transit through the territory of European Union countries.<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;According to UN data, 95% of released Ukrainian prisoners of war report that they were tortured, which indicates a systemic state policy of Russia,&#8221; the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized.<\/p>\n<p> The department called on the international community to continue to increase sanctions pressure on Russia and to bring all those responsible for crimes against Ukrainian prisoners of war and civilians to justice.<\/p>\n<p> As a reminder, with the assistance of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine <a href=\"https:\/\/prm.ua\/katuvaly-ta-znushchalys-z-ukrainskykh-polonenykh-shche-dvom-rosiianam-oholosyly-pidozru-u-voiennykh-zlochynakh\/\">, law enforcement officers identified two more Russian war criminals involved in the torture of Ukrainian prisoners of war<\/a> .
