A rally in support of former Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov has been underway in central Kyiv for the second day in a row. Protesters gathered near the Presidential Office and are calling on the authorities to reconsider the decision to dismiss him.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to the agency, people traditionally gathered on Ivan Franko Square, where they expressed their disagreement with personnel changes in the Ministry of Defense. <\/p>\n

During the rally, protesters hold placards and chant: “Deputies, get to work!”, “Fedorov is the Minister of Defense!”, and “Syrskyi should resign!”. <\/p>\n

A similar protest took place at the same location the day before and lasted until late in the evening. As of today, the protest continues.<\/p>\n

As reported, on Thursday, July 16, rallies were held in a number of Ukrainian cities in support of former Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov<\/a> . People took to the streets after the decision to dismiss him, calling on the authorities to reconsider the personnel changes.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, President Volodymyr Zelensky decided to dismiss Mykhailo Fedorov from the position of Minister of Defense due to a long-standing conflict with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,<\/a> Oleksandr Syrsky.<\/p>\n

It should be noted that the new Minister of Defense, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Head of the Security Service of Ukraine will not be appointed until the next meeting of the Verkhovna Rada<\/a> , which is scheduled to take place only on August 18.<\/p>\n
