Russia has prepared all the necessary infrastructure for a general mobilization, but is postponing this decision for now. The Main Intelligence Directorate believes that the Kremlin may return to this issue after the autumn elections to the State Duma, as the authorities do not want to provoke discontent among the population at this time.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was stated by Andriy Chernyak, a representative of the General Directorate of the Defense Ministry<\/a> of Ukraine, in a comment to Ukrinform. According to him, the Russian leadership is deliberately avoiding public statements about possible mobilization so as not to cause a negative reaction in society.<\/p>\n

“If enemy leaders and propagandists now make it clear to the population that there will be mobilization, it is unknown how the Russians will react to this. According to the estimates of Ukrainian military intelligence, the probability of mobilization after the elections in Russia remains,” Chernyak said.<\/p>\n

The GUR notes that the Russian army does not need new training centers or training grounds, as the existing infrastructure is sufficient. The main problem, according to the intelligence representative, is the lack of personnel to replenish units that are already fighting.<\/p>\n

“They don’t need a new infrastructure for mobilization, they just need “cannon fodder” that will go to war,” Andriy Chernyak emphasized.<\/p>\n

Military intelligence believes that it is the shortage of manpower that is forcing the Russian command to consider a new wave of mobilization, although the Kremlin is currently trying to postpone such a decision for political reasons.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, residents of Moscow and other regions in Russia are massively complaining about the inability to apply for international passports due to the lack of free slots for registration. Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council, believes that this may indicate that the Kremlin is preparing for a new wave of mobilization<\/a> .<\/p>\n
