President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held separate meetings with several prominent military commanders. Against this backdrop, talk of possible personnel changes in the top military leadership has intensified in the information space. At the same time, the General Staff assures that the current command continues to fulfill its duties.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In particular, Zelenskyy reported<\/a> on meetings with the commander of the 3rd Army Corps, Andriy Biletsky, the commander of the Ground Forces, Mykhailo Drapaty, and Volodymyr Horbatyuk.<\/p>\n

According to the president, during the talks, they discussed the situation on the front, Ukraine’s defense strategy, interaction with allies, implementation of agreements on the supply of weapons, and prospects for further actions.<\/p>\n

After each of the meetings, Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of using the combat experience of commanders and coordinating all components of the Defense Forces.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, reports began to spread on social networks and some media outlets about the alleged dismissal of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrsky, and the Chief of the General Staff, Andriy Hnatov.<\/p>\n

The General Staff called<\/a> these reports false.<\/p>\n

They emphasized that General Oleksandr Syrsky continues to perform the duties of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and Lieutenant General Andriy Hnatov remains in the position of Chief of the General Staff.<\/p>\n

The General Staff also reminded that appointments and dismissals from these positions are carried out exclusively by decrees of the President of Ukraine.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, President Volodymyr Zelensky decided to dismiss Mykhailo Fedorov from the position of Minister of Defense due to a long-standing conflict with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,<\/a> Oleksandr Syrsky.<\/p>\n

By the way, the European Solidarity faction called on the candidate for the post of Prime Minister, Serhiy Koretsky, to return Mykhailo Fedorov to the new government and entrust him with security and defense issues.<\/a><\/p>\n

In addition, Deputy Commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Pavlo Yelizarov submitted a report on his resignation. He explained his decision by the possible resignation of Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov and stated the risk of curtailing reforms<\/a> in the field of air defense.<\/p>\n
