Russian occupation forces have significantly intensified their offensive in the Kupyansk direction. The enemy is trying to break through both east of the Oskil River and directly to Kupyansk, where fighting is already taking place in the northern areas of the city. Despite constant pressure, the Ukrainian military is holding back the attacks and inflicting heavy losses on the enemy.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was announced by the spokesman for the Joint Forces Group, Viktor Tregubov, during a telethon.<\/p>\n

According to him, on the eastern bank of the Oskol, Russian troops are trying to advance through Kivsharivka in the direction of Kupyansk-Vuzlovye in order to cut off the Ukrainian bridgehead.<\/p>\n

“The Russians are actively breaking through Kivsharivka, running towards Kupyansk-Vuzlovye, trying to cut off the Ukrainian bridgehead east of the river. They are facing significant resistance, they are suffering heavy losses there, but they are not stopping,” Tregubov said.<\/p>\n

At the same time, according to him, the situation in Kupyansk itself has also worsened. The occupiers have intensified their attempts to enter the city from the north and are already fighting in its northern districts.<\/p>\n

“In fact, they have already caught on to the northern areas of the city. Fighting is ongoing there. They are being destroyed in large numbers, pushed back, but they are actively increasing the pressure and throwing into battle the reserves they have accumulated over the summer,” the spokesman noted.<\/p>\n

Tregubov also stressed that Ukrainian defense in the Kupyansk direction remains effective. According to him, logistics on the eastern bank of the Oskol are complicated by the active use of drones, but the Defense Forces continue to restrain the offensive and inflict significant losses on Russian troops.<\/p>\n
