Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Mykhailo Drapaty will become the new Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At the same time, Oleksandr Syrskyy will complete his work in the position and hand over his affairs to the new leadership.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The president announced<\/a> this in an evening address.<\/p>\n

According to Zelensky, together with Mykhailo Drapaty, Yevheniy Khmara, and Pavlo Palisa, they have already determined the new configuration of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.<\/p>\n

The President emphasized that Syrskyi ensured important results for Ukraine during the defense of Kyiv, the Kharkiv Offensive Operation, and the Kursk Operation.<\/p>\n

He thanked Syrsky for his service, and also expressed gratitude to Mykhailo Drapatom for his vision for the development of the Ukrainian army.<\/p>\n

According to the head of state, that day he also held a meeting with Oleksandr Syrsky and Andriy Hnatov, during which they discussed further formats of the service and the transfer of cases.<\/p>\n

The President added that all personnel decisions will be officially finalized on July 22.<\/p>\n

“Ukraine should emerge stronger from this situation, and it will be more difficult for Russia,” Zelenskyy concluded.<\/p>\n
