Due to the growing threat of Russian attacks, shipowners have temporarily suspended the entry of ships into Ukrainian Black Sea ports. At the same time, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy emphasizes that there is no question of a blockade of sea exports, and no state restrictions on shipping have been introduced.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was announced by the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, Taras Vysotsky, during a conversation with journalists.<\/p>\n

According to him, several ships were calling at Ukrainian ports the day before, but as of July 23, the movement had temporarily stopped. The reason was security risks, and the decision was made by the shipowners themselves.<\/p>\n

“Yesterday, four or five ships were entering the ports. It’s not many, but there was traffic. As of today, the entry of ships has stopped. This is the decision of the shipowners – the state, on its part, did not restrict anything,” said Vysotsky.<\/p>\n

The minister stressed that the current situation does not mean the cessation of maritime exports. According to him, the government is working on solutions that will help restore regular shipping, but the details are not yet disclosed.<\/p>\n

“It is too early to talk about a complete blockade of sea exports,” he emphasized.<\/p>\n

Vysotsky also noted that during war, the shipping situation can change literally every day. After a sharp increase in threats, shipowners often temporarily suspend voyages, assess the level of risk, and then adapt their operations to the new conditions.<\/p>\n

According to the minister, the current pause lasts only a few days, so it is still premature to draw conclusions about its impact on Ukrainian exports. The real consequences, if any, can only be assessed in the longer term.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, Russian forces launched a missile strike on the civilian dry cargo ship GOLDEN LEO, which was carrying grain and was leaving the combat zone<\/a> . The attack killed 5 people, and another 5 crew members are missing.<\/p>\n

As reported, on the night of July 22, a Russian strike drone attacked the bulk carrier Golden Rose in the Black Sea<\/a> . After being hit, a fire broke out on the vessel, but Ukrainian border guards were able to evacuate the entire crew.<\/p>\n
