Ukrainian laser systems are already capable of destroying FPV drones, and in the near future they are planned to be adapted to combat Shahed-type strike drones and other air attack vehicles.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is reported<\/a> by ArmyInform with reference to the statement of the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Brigadier General Andriy Lebedenko.<\/p>\n

According to him, the development of laser weapons has already gone beyond the experimental stage. Ukrainian private companies and specialists from the Armed Forces are working on the relevant technologies.<\/p>\n

Lebedenko noted that within the next two to three months, laser systems may appear in the arsenal of Ukrainian air defense.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

“This is not some distant future prospect. Laser weapons are already capable of destroying FPV drones, and work is currently underway to use them against “shaheeds”. In the next two to three months, we may receive means that will be more effective than machine guns at hitting aerial targets,” he said.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

In addition, Ukraine is developing pulse weapons, which are seen as one of the most promising means of combating massive drone attacks.<\/p>\n

According to the general, such systems have the ability to disable or destroy groups of drones in one hit, which will avoid wasting expensive ammunition on each individual target.<\/p>\n

The Armed Forces of Ukraine added that work on new technologies is being carried out jointly with Ukrainian manufacturers and international partners. The new systems are expected to strengthen Ukrainian air defense against the backdrop of an increase in the number of Russian drone attacks. <\/p>\n
