The robot barista uses artificial intelligence, responds to air alarms, refuses to serve rude visitors, and is preparing to scale in Ukraine and abroad.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p> This is reported by <a href=\"https:\/\/dev.ua\/news\/robot-barysta-radyt-bihty-v-ukryttia-ta-vidmovliaie-hrubiianam-1784807248\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">dev.ua.<\/a><\/p>\n<p> Dnipro startup RoboL Robotics has moved from laboratory development to commercial operation, opening the first robotic coffee kiosk Robi Coffee in the Apollo shopping center. According to the founder and CEO of the company, Anton Kotyk, the launch in real conditions required significant refinement of the software, CRM\/ERP system, mobile application, and robot operation algorithms.<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;This is a big event for us, because we understand that there is a big difference between recording a good video of work from the laboratory and making a commercial product that can work in an unpredictable environment without downtime. This launch required significant improvements to our CRM\/ERP system and mobile application,&#8221; noted Anton Kotyk.<\/p>\n<p> The developers reported that the commercial version of the robot received updated software, new communication algorithms, a changed design, and the ability not only to prepare coffee drinks, but also to serve desserts. <\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/-S_AWwm_iBY?si=v773v0SOlQFjbw_C\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p> Artificial intelligence is responsible for interacting with visitors, analyzing the situation and adapting the robot&#8217;s behavior. According to the company&#8217;s founder, during one of the air alarms, the robot advised visitors to immediately take shelter.<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;Customers said that while ordering coffee, anxiety began to set in, people began to get nervous, to which the robot confusedly began to ask what happened, and then advised to immediately run for cover. Our guests really remembered such empathy,&#8221; said Kotyk.<\/p>\n<p> The company has also integrated algorithms that respond to inappropriate user behavior. The startup&#8217;s founder reported that the robot refused to make drinks for teenagers who spoke to it in obscene language.<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;There were also funny cases. When teenagers came up to order drinks and started talking obscenely to the robot, it refused to cook for them,&#8221; said Anton Kotyk.<\/p>\n<p> The team is currently implementing computer vision into the system to monitor the quality of ingredients and finished products, as well as assigning artificial intelligence to manage certain tasks related to the daily operation of the coffee kiosk. In the future, they plan to add control of the cleanliness of the work area.<\/p>\n<p> The test point has been operating for about three weeks. During this time, the number of prepared drinks has increased from 8 on the first day to about 50 cups per day. The developers note that at the start they encountered both technical malfunctions and errors during the preparation of drinks, but in such cases they reworked orders or refunded customers.<\/p>\n<p> According to Kotyk, one of the biggest challenges for the company was mobilizing two key engineers. Despite this, RoboL Robotics is already working on a second version of the robotic kiosk, which should be cheaper, more reliable, and easier to maintain.<\/p>\n<p> The company also announced plans to open 20 of its own robotic coffee shops in Ukraine, develop the Robi Coffee franchise, and enter the European market after receiving the necessary certification.<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;We have already started booking exclusive franchise rights in Ukrainian cities.
