Acting Defense Minister of Ukraine Yevheniy Khmara gave his first interview to American blogger Laura Loomer during her visit to Ukraine. In the conversation, he outlined Ukraine’s approaches to warfare, spoke about Operation Spiderweb, the development of military technologies, and prospects for cooperation with the United States.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Khmara stressed that Ukraine cannot afford to respond to Russia with mirror strikes due to the difference in resources. According to him, the Ukrainian strategy is based on asymmetric actions aimed at damaging the oil refining industry, logistics, transport infrastructure and other facilities that support the Russian military machine. He noted that the main goal is to inflict maximum damage on the enemy at minimal cost.<\/p>\n

Separately, the acting minister mentioned Operation Spiderweb, calling it an example of effective asymmetric tactics. According to him, the Alpha unit, which he previously led, participated in an operation against Russian strategic aviation.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the Russian strikes, Khmara said that Russia is deliberately attacking the civilian population of Ukraine. Instead, Ukrainian forces, he said, are concentrating on military targets, defense-industrial complex enterprises, and infrastructure that enables Russia to continue the war.<\/p>\n

He named the effective organization of military logistics as one of the key tasks of the Ministry of Defense. This includes protecting supply routes from attacks by Russian drones, providing units with the necessary equipment in a timely manner, and rationally using available resources.<\/p>\n

Khmara also stressed the importance of trust between commanders and servicemen. According to him, a commander should not send subordinates to perform a task that he himself would not be ready to undertake.<\/p>\n

In his opinion, the advantage on the modern battlefield will be the side that implements the latest technologies and adapts to changes faster. He named the development of unmanned systems, the use of artificial intelligence, information warfare, and innovative solutions among the priority areas.<\/p>\n

Khmara paid special attention to cooperation with the United States. He stated the need for further development of military partnership between Kyiv and Washington, particularly in the areas of exchange of combat experience, creation of new technologies, and joint production of weapons.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that Yevheniy Khmara officially became the Acting Minister of Defense of Ukraine<\/a> after the relevant orders of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine came into force.<\/p>\n
