Russian marketplace Wildberries has begun looking for warehouse space in Kazakhstan following a series of Ukrainian drone attacks on the company’s logistics facilities in Russia, as the company seeks to secure part of its infrastructure from possible new attacks.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by<\/a> the Russian propaganda publication Kommersant, citing its own sources.<\/p>\n

According to the publication’s sources, the company is considering leasing warehouse space with a total area of about 100,000 square meters. Another source claims that Wildberries is ready to lease almost all available logistics facilities in Kazakhstan, since the supply in this market is limited.<\/p>\n

At the same time, the company is already building two large logistics centers in Kazakhstan. One of them, with an area of over 100,000 square meters, is being built in Almaty, and another – with an area of 160,000 square meters – is being built in Astana. It is planned to be put into operation next year.<\/p>\n

In total, the Wildberries logistics network includes 209 facilities with a total area of about 5.6 million square meters.<\/p>\n

At the same time, according to NF Group, by the end of 2025, the total volume of quality warehouse space in Kazakhstan was only 1.9 million square meters, and the vacancy rate was 5.8%. Because of this, finding the necessary space for the company will be difficult.<\/p>\n

In addition, Wildberries continues to look for new warehouses in Russia. However, as sources in the real estate market note, more and more warehouse owners are refusing to enter into lease agreements with the company.<\/p>\n

According to the publication, the problem is not a lack of free space, but rather a reluctance on the part of landlords to take risks. Due to regular drone attacks, Wildberries’ facilities may become potential targets, while standard insurance policies do not cover damage from UAV strikes.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that on the morning of July 29, during a massive drone attack in Ryazan, Russia, large-scale fires broke out at the Wildberries oil refinery and sorting complex.<\/a><\/p>\n
