The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has appealed to Hasidic pilgrims planning to come to Uman to celebrate Rosh Hashanah, urging them to assess in advance all the risks associated with the security situation in the country.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported<\/a> by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.<\/p>\n

The department emphasized that due to the full-scale war, regular missile and drone attacks by Russia, as well as the threat of sabotage and shelling of civilian infrastructure, Ukraine is unable to guarantee complete security for foreign citizens.<\/p>\n

The Foreign Ministry also reminded that martial law continues to be in effect in the country. This includes a number of restrictions, including a curfew, enhanced security measures, restrictions on movement, and possible restrictions on holding mass events.<\/p>\n

In addition, pilgrims were warned about a number of practical difficulties. In particular, possible delays in ground transport due to Russian shelling of transport infrastructure, a lack of shelters in places where pilgrims are massed in Uman, as well as the limited capabilities of the local healthcare system to provide medical care to a large number of people.<\/p>\n

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommended that pilgrims follow the messages of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Police, the State Border Service, the State Emergency Service, the Cherkasy Regional Military Administration, and the Uman City Council before traveling.<\/p>\n

Every year, tens of thousands of Hasidim come to Uman for the Rosh Hashanah celebration to visit the grave of Rabbi Nachman. In the context of a full-scale war, the pilgrimage is carried out with additional security measures in mind.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that during one of the previous Rosh Hashanah celebrations, more than 35,000 Hasidic pilgrims arrived in Uman<\/a> . Some foreigners were then denied entry due to problems with documents or violations of Ukrainian legislation.<\/p>\n
