Following a large-scale Russian missile attack on Ukraine on the morning of July 30, a crater was discovered in Poland that may have been caused by the fall of an unknown object. The incident occurred in the Lublin Voivodeship after an airstrike was declared.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Polish military and rescue services are currently investigating the circumstances of the incident.<\/p>\n

An air alert has been declared in eastern Poland due to the threat that one or two missiles could enter the country’s airspace during the Russian shelling of Ukraine. However, there is no official confirmation of a violation of Polish airspace yet.<\/p>\n

Marcin Bubic, spokesman for the Lublin Voivodeship Governor, reported that information about the threat came directly from the Polish Government Security Center.<\/p>\n

Even before the alarm was declared, the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces announced the deployment of fighter jets and an early warning aircraft. Ground-based air defense systems and radar complexes were also put on high alert.<\/p>\n

During the alarm, residents of the Lublin Voivodeship reported the sounds of explosions. Later, a crater was discovered in a field near the village of Tarnawa-Kolonia, which, according to preliminary information, could have been left after the fall of an unknown object.<\/p>\n

Rescuers and police arrived at the scene. Tomasz Stachira, spokesman for the provincial command of the State Fire Service in Lublin, said that the area was cordoned off, and the relevant services were ensuring security and establishing the origin of the object.<\/p>\n

Polish authorities have not yet released final conclusions regarding the causes of the crater and the origin of the unknown object.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, on the night of Thursday, July 30, Russia launched a massive missile strike on Ukraine<\/a> . Kyiv, Lviv, and the suburbs of Kryvyi Rih were under fire. One person died in the capital, dozens were injured in Lviv, and the search for people under the rubble is ongoing, and in the Dnipropetrovsk region, a Russian missile hit a private house, killing six people, including two children.<\/p>\n
