Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that since the start of the full-scale war, Ukraine has lost about 50,000 servicemen killed and about 400,000 wounded. At the same time, the losses of the Russian army, he said, are much higher and amount to about 1.6 million people.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The head of state said<\/a> this in an interview on Fox News.<\/p>\n

According to Zelensky, of the total losses of the Russian occupation troops, about 700,000 are dead.<\/p>\n

At the same time, commenting on the losses of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, the president noted that he did not want to reveal too many details so as not to provide the enemy with information about the state of the Ukrainian army.<\/p>\n

“Honestly, I don’t want to be too frank on this issue, because the Russians will understand what is happening to our army. We have about 50,000 dead soldiers, as well as about 400,000 wounded,” Zelensky said.<\/p>\n

In addition, the head of state reported that there are a large number of servicemen in Ukraine who are considered missing, but he did not give an exact figure.<\/p>\n

In particular, according to the president’s assessment, the Russian army’s casualties are approximately 14 times higher than those of Ukraine. At the same time, he stressed that exact data on losses during the war remain confidential for security reasons.<\/p>\n

Earlier it was reported that the BBC, Mediazona and a team of volunteers have identified the names of 216,205 Russian servicemen who died in the war against Ukraine.<\/a> According to estimates by journalists and military experts, the total irretrievable losses of Russia together with pro-Russian forces could reach from 353,600 to 504,000 people.<\/p>\n
