Trump Media & Technology has launched the Truth API, which gives investment firms and traders accelerated access to US President Donald Trump’s posts on the Truth Social network. The subscription fee is $100,000 per month, and the launch of the service has already sparked debate over a possible conflict of interest.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Truth API allows automated trading systems to receive new posts from Donald Trump on Truth Social almost instantly and react to them in milliseconds. For companies engaged in high-frequency trading, this advantage can provide additional profit, the agency notes.<\/p>\n

The US President regularly posts on Truth Social about customs policies, international conflicts, and individual companies. Such statements can affect stock prices, currency rates, and oil.<\/p>\n

Associated Press reporters asked the White House whether lawyers had evaluated the new service and whether it posed ethical risks. The president’s press office referred the request to Trump Media & Technology.<\/p>\n

The company said the criticism was based on an “ideological hostility to the free market” or a misunderstanding of the difference between public and non-public information. Trump Media argues that all users see posts at the same time, and the Truth API only speeds up their technical delivery to automated systems.<\/p>\n

At the same time, according to the agency, experts note that even an advantage of a few milliseconds is important for high-frequency trading, as it allows you to conclude deals faster than competitors.<\/p>\n

Critics say selling expedited access to the sitting US president’s messages creates a potential conflict of interest. Democrats have called the launch of the service “blatant corruption” and suggested the practice could be the subject of future investigations.<\/p>\n

Trump Media is not disclosing who has already signed up for the Truth API. The Associated Press also reached out to six of the largest high-frequency trading firms, including Citadel Securities and XTX Markets, for comment, but did not receive a response.<\/p>\n

The agency estimates that if at least three companies subscribe, it would double Trump Media’s annual revenue, which earned $3.7 million last year. “For the big players, this is exactly what they need. This is information that can influence the market,” he said.<\/p>\n
