In Omsk, Russia, a drone attack was reported on August 2, most likely targeting the Gazpromneft-ONPZ oil refinery. In the wake of the attack, local authorities canceled a festive concert for the City Day.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is reported by Russian media.<\/p>\n

According to preliminary information, the likely target of the attack was the Omsk oil refinery “Gazpromneft-ONPZ” – one of the largest oil refineries in Russia, which processed up to 21 million tons of oil per year. According to the publication, the enterprise was already attacked on July 6, after which it temporarily stopped working.<\/p>\n

Omsk Oblast Governor Vitaly Khotsenko said air defense forces were repelling a drone attack on the region, which led to the cancellation of an evening concert marking the city’s Day. He later said the Ukrainian drone was allegedly shot down in a field near Omsk, where a fire broke out after the crash. He said there were no injuries.<\/p>\n

Russian journalists also reported that due to the threat of drone attacks, a drone emergency regime was declared in the Omsk region. Omsk airport temporarily suspended operations, and some flights from Moscow and St. Petersburg were redirected to Novosibirsk.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the monitoring Telegram channel Supernova+ has released a video that it claims shows the aftermath of the attack on the Omsk refinery. There is currently no confirmation that the refinery was hit. <\/p>\n
