Martial law and general mobilization continue to operate in Ukraine, which the Verkhovna Rada extended until October 31, 2026. Accordingly, the conscription of men liable for military service continues.<\/strong><\/p>\n

UNIAN reports<\/a> on the features of mobilization in August.<\/p>\n

During martial law, men aged 25 to 60 who are fit in health and do not have a valid deferment or reservation are subject to compulsory mobilization.<\/p>\n

At the same time, men under the age of 25 can also be drafted if they have already completed military service or graduated from a military department and are on military registration.<\/p>\n

The army primarily recruits citizens with in-demand military specialties, including drone operators, artillerymen, signalmen, and other specialists. Priority is also given to individuals who already have military experience.<\/p>\n

However, other men liable for military service between the ages of 25 and 60 may also be subject to mobilization, unless they have legal grounds for deferment or reservation.<\/p>\n

It is important that the right to a deferral must be officially registered. If this is not done, the territorial recruitment and social support center may mobilize the person, since information about the grounds for the deferral may be missing.<\/p>\n

The recruitment of volunteers for military service under a contract is also ongoing. Those who wish can independently choose a unit for service through the recruiting system, without contacting the CCC directly.<\/p>\n

After receiving the summons, the conscript must appear at the CCC, pass a military medical examination, and if deemed fit, go to a training center for basic training. After completing the training, he is sent to a military unit in accordance with the assigned military specialty.<\/p>\n

In particular, as of early August, no changes have been made to the mobilization procedure, so the current rules remain unchanged.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has changed the procedure for granting and reissuing deferments from mobilization<\/a> . From now on, military conscripts can change the grounds for the deferment without losing its validity.<\/p>\n
