The Supreme Court of Sweden has made a final decision on the transfer to Ukraine of the confiscated sanctioned vessel Caffa, which, according to the Ukrainian side, was used to transport grain from the temporarily occupied territories.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by<\/a> the Presidential Commissioner for Sanctions Policy Vladyslav Vlasyuk.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Caffa vessel was detained on March 6 in Swedish territorial waters of the Baltic Sea. Law enforcement officers suspected the crew of using a false flag and violating maritime law.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

According to the Ukrainian side, the ship participated in the transportation of stolen grain from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine and is under sanctions.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

On April 29, a Swedish court ordered the arrest of the Caffa. In early May, the Russian crew was allowed to leave the ship and leave Sweden, while the ship itself remained in port.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

In June, the court preliminarily approved the transfer of Caffa to Ukraine, and now the Supreme Court of Sweden has finally upheld this decision.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, the Swedish prosecutor’s office confiscated the dry cargo ship Caffa, which was detained in early March near Trelleborg.<\/a><\/p>\n
