This includes hearings, document requests and subpoenas, rather than an immediate impeachment process.

This is reported by Reuters .

According to four sources familiar with the discussions, Democrats plan to use Congressional powers to obtain documents from companies and financial entities linked to Trump and hold hearings.

Democrats believe that a broad investigation could be more effective than an immediate attempt to remove the president through impeachment, fearing that such a procedure would immediately become a major political battleground in Washington and allow Trump to portray himself as a victim of a partisan struggle.

“We are not doing this with the goal of impeachment. No one wants to fail the vote on the first day. The main focus is on gathering evidence through investigations that will allow us to hold Trump accountable,” said one of the senior Democratic aides.

According to sources, Democrats’ attention may be focused on Department of Homeland Security contracts, corporate donors, funding for Trump’s planned White House ballroom and possible “pay-to-play” schemes.

They also plan to examine financial structures linked to the president’s family. These include the venture capital firm 1789 Capital, in which Trump’s son Donald Trump Jr. is a partner, as well as possible investments by foreign sovereign wealth funds in structures linked to the president’s family.

Separately, they may examine the activities of large American companies, including Apple, Alphabet, Palantir, Blackstone, BlackRock, and Elon Musk’s companies, including Tesla. At the same time, there is no final list of potential objects of investigation at the moment, and official investigations into these companies have not yet been launched.

Democrats have already begun sending letters to companies, contractors and other organizations requesting information, including on media company Paramount Skydance’s interactions with the Trump administration, YouTube and Alphabet’s deals with the president, private companies’ contracts with the Department of Homeland Security and Venezuelan oil transactions.

Democratic representatives Robert Garcia and Jamie Raskin said that the current investigations would be expanded if the party wins a majority in the House of Representatives.

At the same time, Democrats do not rule out impeaching Trump in the future. According to sources, it could be the next step if the investigation reveals evidence of violations that could be grounds for removing the president.

“If the investigation uncovers evidence that we believe meets the necessary criteria, we will not hesitate to move forward,” the senior Democratic aide added.

The US House of Representatives impeached Trump twice during his first presidential term, but the Senate acquitted the president each time.

Recall that internal contradictions among Republicans are intensifying against the backdrop of protracted military actions and the lack of a clear plan from the leader of the political force, Donald Trump. The situation is hitting the American economy, provoking a rift between the United States and Europe, and could lead to impeachment.

Also follow “Pryamim” on Facebook , X , Telegram , and Instagram.

US Democrats are preparing a broad strategy for investigating President Donald Trump if they win control of the House of Representatives after the November elections.
