The United States will supply Ukraine with Patriot interceptor missiles for its air defense systems every month. According to President Volodymyr Zelensky, relevant agreements have already been reached, but the American missiles may not be enough for Ukraine’s needs.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to Zelensky, European countries can provide additional assistance with providing missiles for Patriot.<\/p>\n

“The Germans and Poles can seriously help. Other countries are helping a little bit,” Zelensky said.<\/p>\n

The President also said that Ukraine is counting on possible support in the field of air defense from Japan and South Korea. According to him, these countries have not yet transferred air defense systems to Ukraine due to restrictions in their domestic legislation.<\/p>\n

Separately, Zelenskyy said that Ukraine is in dialogue with Israel regarding the possible acquisition of air defense systems. He stressed that Ukraine is ready to purchase the necessary weapons, but that there is currently no such possibility.<\/p>\n

At the same time, the president recalled the development of the Ukrainian Freya anti-ballistic system. FirePoint is working on its creation together with one of the Ukrainian state-owned companies, the name of which is not being disclosed at this time.<\/p>\n

Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Denmark, and Italy joined the cooperation with Ukraine within the framework of this project.<\/p>\n

Zelenskyy stressed that strengthening air and missile defense remains one of the key tasks for protecting Ukrainian cities and the population from Russian missile and drone attacks.<\/p>\n

By the way, during a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky last week, US President Donald Trump refused to transfer hundreds of additional interceptor missiles for Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems to Ukraine.<\/a><\/p>\n

It was previously reported that Ukraine has not yet received a license to produce interceptor missiles for Patriot systems.<\/a> The US stated that negotiations are ongoing, but they will not have time to complete them and conclude a corresponding agreement before the beginning of winter.<\/p>\n
