Russian forces likely attacked the bridge in Mayaki, Odessa region, to hinder the export of Ukrainian grain and other goods via an alternative land route. Russia may be shifting strikes from the sea corridor to Ukraine’s land logistics.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is stated<\/a> in a report by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).<\/p>\n

Analysts recalled that Russian troops had already attacked the bridge in Mayaki in December 2025. Ukraine uses this direction as one of the alternative routes for exports after Russian strikes made it difficult to transport goods by sea.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

ISW believes that the new attack on the bridge could have been aimed at disrupting the export of Ukrainian grain and other goods via the land corridor.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

According to analysts, Russia has intensified attacks on Ukrainian export capacities since July 2026.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

In particular, on the night of July 19, a Russian strike destroyed 60,000 tons of grain in the port of Chornomorsk, Odessa region.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

At the end of July, Ukrainian Naval Forces spokesman Dmytro Pletenchuk reported that Russian attacks had damaged more than 20 vessels and significantly slowed down the operation of the sea corridor.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Ukrainian Agrarian Council also stated that due to Russian missile and drone strikes on port infrastructure, Ukraine lost about a third of its grain export capacity.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Amid Russian attacks, Ukraine is looking for alternative routes across the Danube for transporting grain and other cargo.<\/p>\n

ISW suggests that Russia may now shift its focus from attacks on the sea corridor to land routes. Thus, Moscow is trying to further complicate Ukrainian exports and harm the country’s economy.<\/p>\n

We will remind, earlier the Russian occupiers carried out a drone strike on the port infrastructure of the Mykolaiv region<\/a> , as a result of which two civilian vessels were damaged. <\/p>\n
