In Russia’s Tyumen region, drones attacked the Central Gas Fractionation Unit (CGFU) of the ZapSibNeftekhim enterprise in Tobolsk, which is part of the SIBUR holding company.<\/p>\n
ASTRA reported this, citing its own OSINT analysis. The attack on SIBUR’s gas fractionation unit was also confirmed by the monitoring channel Exilenova+.<\/p>\n
ZapSibNeftekhim is Russia’s largest petrochemical complex. The company annually processes approximately 2.5 million tons of oil byproducts, which are then used to produce polymers.<\/p>\n
The gas fractionation unit plays a vital role in this process: it converts the liquid gas mixture into raw materials for the further production of polyethylene and polypropylene, which are used, in particular, in the manufacture of parts, pipes, and packaging.<\/p>\n
From Tobolsk to the border with Ukraine is about 2,200 km.<\/p>\n
Earlier, Tyumen Oblast Governor Alexander Moor confirmed the attack. He said a fire broke out at an industrial facility after several drones crashed.<\/p>\n
At the same time, the governor did not specify which enterprise he was referring to. There were no reports of casualties as a result of the attack.<\/p>\n
