Canada has imposed sanctions on defense manufacturer Streit Group after credible reports confirmed that its armored vehicles are being used by Russia\u2019s National Guard in the war against Ukraine.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was announced by<\/a> Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Streit Group manufactures armored vehicles and other military equipment. The Canadian Foreign Ministry said it had received numerous reports of the company’s products being used by Russian security forces.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In particular, armored vehicles manufactured by Streit Group are used by the Russian Guard, which is participating in Russia’s war against Ukraine.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Canadian foreign policy department noted that the new restrictions should reduce the company’s ability to supply military technology and equipment to Russia.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Canada thus hopes to weaken the Russian military potential and limit the capabilities of the Russian military-industrial complex.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Canadian Foreign Ministry also emphasized that the country continues to support the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sybiga thanked Canada for imposing sanctions.<\/p>\n

According to him, companies that supply technology, equipment, or components to the Russian military-industrial complex are contributing to the war against Ukraine and must bear responsibility for this.<\/p>\n
