A series of attacks on the logistics facilities of Russian marketplace Wildberries has caused massive losses and jeopardized its traditional business model. According to the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine, at least 14 logistics hubs burned down in a few weeks, causing the company to lose more than 20% of its warehouse capacity.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The SZRU reported<\/a> this on Telegram.<\/p>\n

According to Ukrainian intelligence estimates, Wildberries’ direct losses could exceed 100 billion rubles, and in a pessimistic scenario, reach 200 billion rubles. The company’s total financing needs are already estimated at approximately 1.3 trillion rubles.<\/p>\n

Amid the loss of warehouse capacity, sellers began to leave the platform, losing goods and business. As a result, the marketplace’s turnover, according to SZRU, decreased by at least a quarter.<\/p>\n

The intelligence explains that Wildberries’ business model relies heavily on continuous growth in turnover. The company receives payment from buyers immediately, while transferring funds to sellers a few weeks later, using this money to fund ongoing costs and discounts.<\/p>\n

“The model holds as long as turnover grows. As soon as it falls, the pyramid begins to collapse: accumulated expenses cease to be covered by the inflow of new money, and the company increases losses,” the SZRU noted.<\/p>\n

According to intelligence, the Russian government is already preparing measures to support Wildberries sellers, including tax breaks and preferential lending. The marketplace itself may be allowed to use Russian Post warehouses instead of the destroyed hubs.<\/p>\n

At the same time, the company’s financial situation remains difficult. At the end of 2025, its net loss increased to 23.7 billion rubles, and net debt exceeded 107 billion rubles.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that on August 11, large-scale fires were recorded at industrial facilities in several regions in Russia.<\/a> In particular, fires occurred at the Komsomolsk Oil Refinery, at the Wildberries logistics complex in the Voronezh region, as well as in Orsk and Angarsk.<\/p>\n

In addition,Wildberries banned employees from bringing smartphones into the warehouses. Employees were only allowed to use push-button phones without cameras.<\/a><\/p>\n
