Petro Poroshenko congratulated Ukrainians on International Youth Day and emphasized that due to the full-scale war, the younger generation had to grow up too early, determine their values, and take responsibility for the future of the country.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“It’s early to understand what evil is and what it means to be on the other side – the side of good. To volunteer, to take an oath, to choose a profession that is needed to defend the country, to work on inventions that help our soldiers,” the fifth president noted. <\/p>\n

Poroshenko noted that parents would like their children to have a completely different youth – with studies, travels, falling in love, plans for the future, and meetings with friends. Instead, the war forced many young Ukrainians to endure occupation, loss of home and loved ones, separation from parents who were at the front, and studying to the sounds of air raid sirens. <\/p>\n

“You had to decide on your values and priorities early on. And you chose not indifference, but struggle. Your own culture and history. You chose to be stronger, more educated, and more humane than the enemy,” Poroshenko emphasized.<\/p>\n

He also noted the willingness of young Ukrainians to defend their beliefs and the future of the country.<\/p>\n

“You are resolutely taking to the streets, holding simple cardboard signs in your hands, to defend what you believe in. This is the voice of a generation that does not want to be silent when it comes to its freedom, dignity, and future. This only inspires respect,” the fifth president wrote. <\/p>\n

Poroshenko separately congratulated the representatives of Solidarnaya Youth. According to him, some of the young people are currently undergoing training in combat training and tactical medicine, and many representatives of the organization are already serving in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in various fields.<\/p>\n

“Soldiers, combat medics, volunteers, lawyers of our state in the world – they are already building an independent, strong in spirit, European Ukraine,” he noted.<\/p>\n

Poroshenko emphasized that years of struggle have formed a generation of Ukrainians who understand the price of freedom and are ready to independently determine the future of their country.<\/p>\n

“These years of struggle were definitely not in vain. Because today we have a generation of Ukrainians that knows the price of freedom and will not allow anyone to decide for them what Ukraine will be like. Happy Youth Day! Take care of yourself, your dreams, and Ukraine,” Poroshenko concluded. <\/p>\n
