Russian occupation forces have begun using a new, previously unknown type of kamikaze drone capable of carrying two anti-tank mines at once. The drone has already been spotted in the southern direction, in particular during a flight towards Snigurivka.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was announced by<\/a> Serhiy Flesch, Advisor to the President of Ukraine on the Development of Technological Areas of Defense.<\/p>\n

According to him, the new drone resembles the Russian Molniya drones in appearance. Its structure consists of two beams, between which is located the hardware compartment with a battery.<\/p>\n

The new model features larger wings and tail fins, presumably to increase lift, flight range, and the drone’s duration in the air.<\/p>\n

Also on the wing are two electric motors – one on each side. In the nose of the drone are two anti-tank mines, probably of the TM-62 type. A similar scheme has previously been used on the Molniya-2 drones, but the new device has a different design.<\/p>\n

In addition, an additional element is visible in the tail section, which can act as a counterweight to the combat load. This is necessary to maintain stability during flight and correct weight distribution.<\/p>\n

The comments to the expert’s post note that similar drones have already been spotted in southern Ukraine. At present, the exact characteristics of the new Russian drone and the scope of its use remain unknown.<\/p>\n

Recall that Shahed-type kamikaze drones, equipped with an online control system, pose an increased threat to a number of regions of Ukraine. They are capable of striking not only stationary but also moving targets within a designated area.<\/a><\/p>\n

As reported, Ukrainian radio technology specialist and advisor to the head of state Serhiy Beskrestnov (\u201cFlash\u201d) published photos of an updated serial version of the Russian FPV drone \u201cBoomerang\u201d. According to him, the drone has received a number of technical improvements, including a new guidance system and the ability to operate at frequencies above 6 GHz.<\/a><\/p>\n
