The power plants will be manufactured in the city of Vaasa. The procurement for Ukraine’s needs is carried out by the state-owned company Ukrnafta.

The Finnish government emphasizes that reliable energy supply remains critically important for Ukraine, especially in winter, when Russia traditionally intensifies attacks on energy infrastructure.

Finnish Minister of Foreign Trade and Development Ville Tavio noted that the project combines support for Ukraine and the use of Finnish technologies.

“Finland has world-class energy expertise that Ukraine needs for recovery. It is great that Finnish technology and Finnish workers are participating in strengthening Ukraine’s energy security,” said Tavio.

The financing is provided through the Finnish Investment Facility for Ukraine (FUIF) program, which provides support for Ukrainian public investments with the involvement of Finnish technologies and services. Finnvera will also provide a 100% guarantee on the loan raised for the project.

As a reminder, the European Union will continue to assist Ukraine in restoring energy infrastructure damaged by Russian shelling. On the eve of winter this year, the EU plans to allocate 920 million euros for these needs.

As previously reported, following the Energy Ramstein in Gdansk, the partners announced new assistance to Ukraine to restore its energy infrastructure .
