The attack was allegedly planned to take place in Warsaw.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"564\" data-end=\"636\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">\n<p>This <a href=\"https:\/\/www.polsatnews.pl\/wiadomosc\/2026-08-13\/tusk-zatrzymalismy-obywatela-rosji-szykowal-zamach-na-obywatela-usa\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">was reported by<\/a> Polsat News with reference to Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.<\/p>\n<p>The Russian was detained on August 7 as a result of a joint operation by the Polish Internal Security Agency, the police, and American intelligence services.<\/p>\n<p>According to Tusk, the potential victim has US and Ukrainian citizenship and was inconvenient for the regime of Russian leader Vladimir Putin. Polish law enforcement officers managed to prevent the crime at the last moment.<\/p>\n<p>The Polish prime minister emphasized that this is the first known case where an agent on behalf of Russia was preparing an attack on a US citizen on the territory of another NATO country.<\/p>\n<p>Minister-Coordinator of Poland&#8217;s Secret Services Tomasz Siemoniak also confirmed that the detained Russian was acting on behalf of a foreign secret service and was preparing a murder in Warsaw.<\/p>\n<p>Tusk said that Russia continues its hybrid war against Western states that support Ukraine.
