These launch vehicles are used to launch a significant portion of Russia’s military satellites, including the Rassvet satellites, a potential alternative to Starlink.

This is what analysts from Defence Express and the OSINT project “Cybermuka” write about.

Russian authorities have confirmed a strike on an industrial facility in Samara. According to Astra analysts, the strike could have hit a production facility at the Aviakor aircraft manufacturing plant or the Progress Rocket and Space Center. The facilities are located directly adjacent.

Cybermuk suggests the impact may have hit hull 106A, part of the Soyuz launch vehicle’s production complex. Onboard electrical equipment, instruments, printed circuit boards, control systems, and cable networks—essentially the rocket’s “nervous system”—are installed there.

Nearby is building 106B, where final assembly takes place.

Progress is considered the only center where the entire core line of Russian Soyuz-2 launch vehicles is assembled. Defense Express suggests that, if the strike is confirmed, Ukraine could have hit one of the key production units of the Russian military space program.

According to the publication, this could also impact Russia’s program to create its own satellite constellation, Rassvet.

At the same time, there is no official confirmation yet of the Progress missile’s destruction. Russian authorities have not reported the aftermath of the strike, and the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has not yet confirmed the attack on the facility.

In its morning update, the Russian Ministry of Defense only announced the repelling of a drone attack and made no mention of the Samara region, although local authorities reported a massive missile attack.

Also follow “Pryamy” on Facebook , X , Telegram and Instagram.

During the nighttime attack on Samara, Russia, the Progress Rocket and Space Center, which produces Soyuz-2 launch vehicles, may have been hit.
